Born from pure skate passion and a drive to innovate, Sk8leash has been pushing the limits of what’s possible since 2004. Patented first that year and again in 2024, our skateboard leash is proudly made in the USA with high-grade polyurethane rubber and precision-crafted parts built to last.

Sk8leash started with Cyrus Stream Fuhrmiester — skater, musician, athlete, and all-around original. Cyrus has been skating since 1984 and loved the sport so much he found a way to make it better.

The first leashes were produced and sold out of Venice Originals, right in the heart of Venice Beach — the birthplace of modern skate culture. Back then, it was called Backleash. As the idea evolved and skaters around the world caught on, the name transformed too — Sk8leash was born.

Now headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Sk8leash Partners stays true to its roots. We source most of our materials from U.S. manufacturers, handle all design, assembly, and finishing on the West Coast, and keep everything built by skaters, for skaters.
